Versace Collaboartes with H&M

Power fashion house Versace and high street brand H&M are bringing forth what could easily be called the biggest collaboration in fashion history! Versace will develop a collection for H&M just in time for the fall. Donatella Versace herself has designed the exclusive collection for H&M Autumn 2011. Excited and proud of the joint venture, Donatella wore one of the dresses from the collection (shown above) at the Versace's Men Fashion Show in Milan Monday night. Creative advisor at H&M Margareta van den Bosh stated, "Versace is one of the most important brands of recent times, and their collection for H&M will be glamorous and flamboyant-everything Versace stands for. Versace is sharing with us iconic designs from the archives. This is such a celebratory collaboration and is perfect for the festive season." Promised to be full of leather, print, and color at H&M prices, the collection will be available November 19th! Here's a sneak peek...

Designer Spotlight: Brian Atwood

Sunday night's Golden Globes award event was the hottest ticket in town. Besides the awards, the fashion worn on the red carpet was the big story. Meet the man who's shoes were gliding all over the red carpet Sunday night-Brian Atwood. Megan Fox, Anne Hathaway, Mandy Moore, and Carrie Underwood (among others) wore Brian Atwood shoes Sunday night. In a Christian Louboutain crazed world, Brian Atwood has managed to catapult his shoe line straight to the top, seemingly overnight...

White Winter Wonderland

Wearing white in the winter has long been a taboo in the fashion world. Although winter is associated with white, snow, & ice...fashions for the season are usually the opposite. Lucky for us a taboo does not necessarily mean a rule. Its not the easiest look to pull off, but when done correctly it has amazingly sophisticated results. The fabric is the key part of wearing winter white, a rich fabric makes all the difference. There are fabulous ways to wear white during the winter that will have you looking and feeling like a snow queen.

Wearing a white coat will stand out in a crowd and make you look marvelous. The length of a white trench coat gives you a more dramatic look.

Designer's Spotlight: Lanvin

Subsequently critic's favorite and very high on my hot designers' list, Lanvin is one the most quietly slept yet incredibly fabulous lines of the fashion world. Lanvin is the oldest French fashion house still in operation. Founded by Jeanne Lanvin in 1889, Lanvin built a name with ultrafeminine clothing as well as popular fragrances. The company has seen turbulent years of uncertainty, due to shuffles of ownership, it has remained present but failed to connect with the world. The entrance of Alber Elbaz in 2001 as the designer for the house revived Lanvin and helped the house find financial and critical success. With each collection, Elbaz seems to reinvent himself and inspire others effortlessly. Lanvin has become extremely popular and in highly demanded, our First Lady Michelle Obama was photographed wearing a pair of Lanvin sneakers in May 2009 which solidified Lanvin a spot in our history books. Other celebrities such as Nicole Kidman, Jay-Z, Kate Moss, and Jenifer Aniston are also known to be fans of Lanvin. However one of the greatest things about the Lanvin house is that the everyday fashionista also has access to the fabulous pieces created. Lanvin's biggest wholesale customer in the US is Barney's New York making it available to us all. Along with Barney's; Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, and Net-A-Porter.com all carry Lanvin. Here's a look at why this is my favorite designer right now.
